Do you desire to have a local Orthodox Anglican

parish in your area?

With God’s blessing this can happen! A new mission has been defined as “a society of people bound together by their faith in Christ and their communion with Him and one another in the observance of the sacred rites which He ordained for them. It is an organized society with its own officers chosen from its own members. It is a unity.” (Roland Allen, The Ministry of the Spirit). Such churches are full, local manifestations of the Universal Church, and are connected to the whole body of the Faithful through their bishop. Notice that in this definition there is no mention of the necessity for fancy buildings, vested choirs, pipe organs, or even paid, professional clergy (although these things, and others like them, are to be welcomed when and where suitable).  According to the biblical model and apostolic practice, new missions are primarily formed for the salvation of souls and the edification of believers through teaching of the Word and celebration of the sacraments. In our tradition, Word and Sacrament are united in corporate worship according to the classic editions of The Book of Common Prayer.

The Orthodox Anglican Church is a missionary organization. We know it is the will of God for us to open new missions throughout the United States. A local church begins with the faith and vision of a small “core group” of believers. And so, if you and a few other like-minded Christians see the need of a local Orthodox Anglican church in your area, please contact us. We have the experience, knowledge, and tools to guide you!
